Apple, strawberry, hazelnut, vineyards, turf areas, ornamental plants, pear, plum, cherry, quince, peach, and apricot are among the preferred host plants.

Economic damage is particularly severe in pome fruit varieties and in sandy, humus-rich soils. In nurseries and especially in large fruit plantations, infestations can cause trees to gradually decline, dry out, and die within as little as 2–5 years.

Bioteam is a Biological Control Agent (Entomopathogenic Nematode) containing Heterorhabditis bacteriophora.

What Should Be Considered Before Applying Bioteam?

Package Selection and Storage Conditions

• Bioteam is available in packages containing 50 million, 250 million, and 500 million biological control agents.
• Select the package size that will provide 1 million Bioteam nematodes per tree.
• An opened package must be used in a single application.
• Always check the expiration date before use.
• Since Bioteam is a biological product, its maximum shelf life is 45 days from the production date.
• If it will be used at a later date, it must be stored at 2–6°C (35.6–42.8°F) in a dark environment.
• Bioteam remains active within a temperature range of 8–28°C (46.4–82.4°F).

Preparation of Bioteam

Available application equipment may include:

• Motorized sprayers
• Sprinkler irrigation systems
• Backpack sprayers
• Even a simple watering can

Preparation Steps

1. Ensure that the application tank is completely clean before filling it with water.
2. Fill the tank halfway with clean, chlorine-free, cool water (15–20°C / 59–68°F).
3. Adjust the total water volume to provide at least 5–10 liters of water per plant.
4. Remove all filters and screens from the application tank to prevent clogging.
5. The spray nozzle opening should be larger than 0.8 mm (800 microns).
6. Add the entire contents of the Bioteam package into a separate bucket containing 10 liters of water and mix for 5 minutes.
7. Transfer the homogeneous mixture into the application tank that is half-filled with water.
8. Add the remaining water to complete the mixture.

Application of Bioteam

• Apply a total of 1 million Bioteam nematodes per tree.
• Maximum pressure at the spray nozzle and spray gun should not exceed 5 bar.
• Keep the agitator running during application to prevent the mixture from settling.
• Continuous mixing should be maintained until the application is completed.
• After application, soil moisture should be maintained through irrigation for 3–4 weeks.
